let me explain...

I know it seems a little bit self-absorbed to write a "Bio" about ones self. I wasn't planning on it, but after some careful thought, I decided it might be a good idea to let you know where I am coming from as an individual. Hopefully knowing a little about my history and current situation will give you some insight into my art projects, daily rants, and why I am the way I am.

Quick History...

I was born on May 15, 1978, in Knoxville, TN, to Jack and Connie Copeland. I have a sister, Jessica, who is 3 years older than I am.

We moved from Tennessee to Florida when I was 3 years old. I have a great fondness for the region in which I was born, but my heart belongs to Florida.

I grew up playing in the woods, building forts and tree houses, playing with G.I. Joes, and doing most of the stuff kids do.

I attended Seventh-day Adventist church schools through grade school and most of high school except for a year and a half at a Southern Baptist academy in Ocala, Florida. It was at this school where I first learned what it meant to be religiously persecuted. I wasn't crucified or anything like that, but I was shunned by a lot of the staff and students, and the dean of students told me she wanted me to see an actual excorsist because she could "feel the demons working inside" me. Talk about awkward...

It was also at this school where I learned that racism is still alive and well. There was only one black kid at the whole school, and he happened to be a Seventh-Day Adventist, so we where immediately friends. I really felt for the guy because he took it from the religious fanatics and the racists all at once. At that school there really weren't many other kinds of people.

Ugh.... writing a bio is hard... more later...
